Comedy Shows

100% Clean Humor Guaranteed

"Comedy is not "filth-flam-foul". It is irony, sature and the like. It is not my place to pass judgement on those who use these terms in their shows, but I must be true to myself.

Therefore, I do not curse in my shows. There are ten words/terms you will not hear me say in any of my shows. (I will provide this list to comedy hosts if requested).

I am so passionate about this, that in the event my wits escape me on stage and I use one of these words/terms, I will refund the cost of the show.

FYI: I've not given a refund yet."
- Scott Norman

When comedian Scott Norman takes the stage, he comes armed with an arsenal of jokes about a familiar topic- the Last Frontier. Alaska, and the people of Alaska, are hot topics in his comedy routine, and he said he pulls from his home state because the audience “gets it.” I don’t care for insult comics, because I think they are just rude,” Norman said. “I like truth and innuendo. The truth is more funny than anything you can do with an insult.” Some of those “truths” include bits on dog mushing, local politics and things that Alaskans hold dear and true, such as duct tape. “If I did a bit about dog mushing in Louisiana, people would wonder what the hell I am doing up there on stage,” Norman said. “But here, that works. You have to know your audience.” “I love where I live, and it gives me material every day,” he said. ”The entire state is ripe with interesting people and places.” Norman said having something unique-such as Alaska- is vital to comedians and their bits.

Vladimir Donsky- Second Rotary Paul Harris Fellow in Russia (after former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.) You are born to be a comedian. I was impressed by how skillfully you balanced content and form through what we call here "dry humor" (minimum of nonverbals and maximum of message gotten through). This combination makes the message get stuck, and I watched the audience smiling long after your presentation at the 2005 conference. Personally, I appreciate your refined - and even exquisite - sense of humor that would endear you to your potential audiences. Good luck!

Brian Hoff, Manager, Latitude 61 Club Great job on the comedy tonight! Can you perform next week too?

John Klapperich, Owner / President – KMBQ Radio He impressed me with a family show at Lake Lucille Lounge a few weeks ago, lots of good local material...might I say great?

Jerry Moses, Prudential Jack White Vista Real Estate Inc. My wife and I both enjoyed your show. I've done some emceeing myself and had to do some jokes and witticisms and I know it's not easy. I also have a brother who is an actor and I know how difficult show business can be

.

Jon Deisher, Pacific RIM Company I've heard Scott perform. He's got an excellent presentation with good audience participation.

Duane Conrey, Owner, Lake Lucille Lounge You have an open invitation to perform here anytime!

Stand up Comedy

Stand-up comedy is difficult to master partly because the comedian is at the mercy of the audience, which is an integral element of the act. An adept stand-up comedian must nimbly play off the mood and tastes of any particular audience, and adjust his or her routine accordingly. Stand-up is an art form that is openly devoted to getting laughs from an audience above all else (unlike theatrical comedy, which creates comedy within the structure of a play and with character and situation). The skills attributed to stand-up are diverse; it is often necessary for a stand-up comic to simultaneously assume the roles of a writer, editor, performer, promoter, producer and technician.

Comedic Beliefs
Ecclesiastes 3:4
There is a time to weep & a time to laugh.
Proverbs 11:2
With pride comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
"The best test of humility is the ability to laugh at ourselves. Humans start laughing at 3 months, before we even roll over; I believe God had a reason for this." - - Scott Norman
